The Institut International de l’Image et du Son (International Institute of Image and Sound - 3IS) is a private technical institution of higher learning, situated in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines 25km west of Paris. The foremost audiovisual campus in Europe, the film school was created at the end of 1980s. Our film institute comprises premises of 4 000 m ², specifically built for the practical teaching of the image and sound professions.
3IS built its reputation on the quality and the efficiency of its training of professionals in the fields of image, editing, sound, directing, production, audiovisual journalism and multimedia: having produced 1200 graduates in initial undergraduate training and 8000 trainees out of the in-service training section. Over 20 years, the Film Institute has dispensed an innovative education, at the same time technical and artistic, theoretical and practical, a tried and tested winning combination which facilitates rapid insertion into the
film industry and entertainment media.
The core initial training program takes place over three years, with the option of following beforehand one year prep course preparing students for university entry cohering with the core syllabus.
Admission to both the preparatory course and the 1st year program requires a minimum entry qualification - baccalaureate or equivalent ("A" levels or other internationally recognized University entrance qualification).
Entry directly into 2nd or 3rd years may be possible, in certain cases, for students
having completed two years' university education (parallel admissions).
