Located 25 km from Paris and near the new town of Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines - 2nd largest economic satellite of Paris West - 3IS favors a spatial organization to combine learning and conviviality, practicality and comfort, a studious atmosphere and pleasant environment. By its geographic situation, the film school has unique advantages:
>4000 m2 premises built specifically for the teaching of careers in image and sound: a cinema for screening and projection booth, sound stage, video and sound boards, recording studios and sound mixing booths(Soundcraft, Studer) digital sound studio (ProTools), speaking booth, auditorium, school of duplication, over 40 rooms of video and film editing (Avid, Final Cut Pro, Beta SP, DVCam, CTM and ATLAS), photo lab, multimedia room, rooms course and practice facilities (cafeteria equipped with 200 seats equipped with
WiFi zone, terrace access, parking, etc.).
Technical capacity
With premises of some 4 000 m2 (43 000 square feet) specially built, designed and equipped with professional technical means for teaching the motion picture skills in image and sound, 3IS provides optimal working conditions. The Institute provides students with sophisticated facilities for the production of hundreds of films per year in all formats and all media.
The pool of equipment is regularly renewed and updated in line with equipment used by professionals. Special partnerships between 3IS and established companies in the service delivery sector such EVS Corporate or Fujinon also offers the possibility of using the cutting-edge experimental technologies.
An equipment pool storeroom to serve students’practical needs:
The storeroom called "le magazin" occupies a central place in 3IS, thanks to its location but above all its crucial part as a heart of the school’s productions. Students borrow all the necessary technical equipment for their various exercises and shoots - cameras, tapes and film, projectors, lamps and gels, accessories(mama, flags, reflector lamps etc..), electrical distribution, microphones with booms and accessories, mixers, recorders, dolly and steadicam, etc.. It operates much like a rental agency with a team dedicated to managing the equipment pool and technical maintenance.
